Ongoing Society
Membership in the Society will expand each year as more
senior medical students, residents and faculty members are
elected, as student members may remain at UF for residency
training, and as persons selected for GHHS membership at other
medical schools join the faculty and house staff. As of the
2003-2004 academic year, new student members are identified
early during the Fall semester. Chapter members meet during the
Fall semester to plan activities for the remainder of the
academic year, including possible service projects. An induction
banquet will be held during the Spring semester, which will
include the presentation of an membership certificate and a GHHS
lapel pin from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. In addition, new
student members of the Society shall be recognized by mention of
their membership in the Dean's letters of recommendation, and
acknowledgment at graduation.
Society members will be recognized as leaders and role models
for humanism in medicine within our institution. This website
will describe ongoing Society events and other activities
related to humanistic endeavors on the part of our medical
students, residents and faculty. The website will also profile
medical student, resident and faculty members.
